Overwhelm When this unit attacks and defeats a unit: Give a number of Experience tokens to this unit equal to the defeated unit's cost.
Rules
A unit "attacks and defeats a unit" if it defeats the defender at any point during the attack. Abilities that refer to a card’s cost always refer to its printed cost, regardless of modifiers. If the defender is defeated during an attack before combat damage is dealt, all combat damage is considered excess damage for Overwhelm. Shields prevent all damage from a unit with Overwhelm. There is no excess damage since the defender is not defeated. When Attack Ends abilities trigger when combat damage is dealt. The attacker doesn’t need to survive for the ability to trigger unless the ability says otherwise. The unit isn’t considered to be attacking when these abilities resolve.
