Rules
Pilots are considered units while not in play. If you use a "play a unit" ability, you may only play a Pilot as a unit. If you use a "play an upgrade" ability, you may only play a Pilot as an upgrade. If you use a "play a card" ability, you may do either. A unit must survive an attack to trigger its “when this unit completes an attack” abilities. When Attack Ends abilities trigger when combat damage is dealt. The attacker doesn’t need to survive for the ability to trigger unless the ability says otherwise. The unit isn’t considered to be attacking when these abilities resolve.
