Overwhelm While you have the initiative, this unit isn't defeated by having no remaining HP and can't be defeated by enemy card abilities.
Rules
Shields prevent all damage from a unit with Overwhelm. There is no excess damage since the defender is not defeated. If the defender is defeated during an attack before combat damage is dealt, all combat damage is considered excess damage for Overwhelm. Cassian's leader ability applies to all units that have dealt combat or non-combat damage to an opponent's base. If one of those units gains Sentinel, it can be attacked. Cassian can be assigned more damage than his remaining HP. While you have the initiative, he can't be defeated directly by card abilities that “defeat a unit” or by having 0 remaining HP. While you have the initiative, if Cassian is attacked by a unit with Overwhelm, there is no excess damage if he is not defeated.
