Rules
Sloane's leader ability gives Sentinel and Overwhelm to each ground or space unit when the ability is used. Units that enter play after the ability is used don't gain Sentinel or Overwhelm. Shields prevent all damage from a unit with Overwhelm. There is no excess damage since the defender is not defeated. If the defender is defeated during an attack before combat damage is dealt, all combat damage is considered excess damage for Overwhelm.
