Attached unit is a leader unit. When deployed as an upgrade: Create 2 TIE Fighter tokens.
In order to deploy Vader as an upgrade, there needs to be a friendly Vehicle unit for him to attach to. You cannot deploy him as an upgrade and attach him to one of the TIE Fighter tokens he creates when deployed. Vader’s leader ability still can be used as an action even if you haven't attacked with a non-token Vehicle unit this phase (but no TIE Fighter token is created).
