Rules
When using Lama Su's leader ability, the damage is dealt to the unit before any triggered abilities resolve from playing the upgrade. A unit must survive an attack to trigger its “when this unit completes an attack” abilities. When Attack Ends abilities trigger when combat damage is dealt. The attacker doesn’t need to survive for the ability to trigger unless the ability says otherwise. The unit isn’t considered to be attacking when these abilities resolve.
